CONGRATULATIONS!
|
You have been accepted into the Danish Resistance.
You must complete three tasks to save a group of Jews.
TASK ONE: You must create a phone conversation between two people using code. Think about the secret language the Resistance and the Danes used in Number the Stars. Use this language and make up your own code words! Script a coded conversation where one person (a Dane) is asking another person (a Resistance member) if the time is right to smuggle Jews out of Denmark. The Resistance member should answer in code. Once your message is perfect, use a microphone and Audacity to create a podcast.
TASK TWO: You must compose the cover page of your Resistance newspaper, De Frie Danske. Remember the newspaper Peter snuck into the Johansen house for Annemarie's parents to read? You must come up with an article that informs the Danes how to sneak the Jews from Copenhagen to Gilleleje. Make sure you include a headline, catch phrase, and picture in your PowerPoint newspaper template.
TASK THREE: Do you remember how scared we were when Annemarie's family was trying to get the Jews to Uncle Henrik's boat safely? You must give the Danish Jews instructions on how to dress for their journey across the sea to Sweden, how to avoid Nazis when walking to the dock, and how to hide in the boat. Make sure you are very detailed! You will record your instructional video using a flip-cam. |
